According to the Oruro Provincial Transportation Bureau, the traffic accident occurred in the early morning of the 18th local time. A long-distance bus carrying 44 passengers was on the way to Tolapampa, Oruro Province. The trucks collided.

Initial investigations revealed that the cause of the accident was low visibility caused by rain and fog, and the truck entered the reverse lane when passing the road. At present, the injured have been taken to hospital for treatment.
