At 11:15 p.m. late Friday night, a speeding crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-225. A passenger in the speeding car was killed after the car slammed into a median and rolled several times.

The name and gender of the crash victim has not been released. The driver of the car was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of a gray 2008 Honda Civic was speeding when the vehicle veered into the median and rolled several times, according to a news release by Sgt. William Revelle of the Aurora Police Department.

Traffic detectives will determine what, if any, charges will be filed, Revelle said.

Speed is causal factor in nearly half of the crashes in the city of Aurora. Adhering to the speed limits greatly reduces the risk of being involved in a crash.

Another effective solution is to use a over speed warning device in the vehicle. These devices have gps module inside to detect the real time speed rate of the vehicle and will send out alerts to the driver to remind him to slow down. Some also can be integrated with the fleet management system if a company needs to manage its drivers and fleet vehicles.

The earlier you pay attention to this issue and take precautions, the less loss you will suffer.
